Between 1990 and 1992, he earned an MBA from the Columbia Business School. He later settled in New York City with his wife, Nina Garcia. Together, they have two children.

Lucas Alexander Conrod was born on March 2002. The second child, Alexander David Conrod, was born on November 2010.

At Guggenheim Partners, LLC, David served as the Senior Managing Director for over ten years, from January 2000 to March 2010. He joined the firm during its inception and was responsible for the growth and development of the sales and marketing team.

He led the distribution and manager sourcing for Guggenheim-sponsored and third-party fund and co-investment products across the institutional, family office, and high-net-worth channels. 

During his time at Guggenheim, the team successfully raised several billion dollars in distribution and manager sourcing for Guggenheim-sponsored and third-party funds and capital for strategies such as aviation finance, growth equity, mortgage derivatives, and real estate.

He was also responsible for launching six of the most successful Guggenheim-sponsored first-time fund strategies and several series of successor funds.

In 2017, he co-founded Rise Line Business Credit, a non-bank lender to middle-market companies in the United States. The firm is a sister company to his FocusPoint Private Capital Group. Rise Line Business Credit is the go-to source for middle-market companies that need working capital without the hassle of going through a bank. 

In August 2021, David Conrod sold Rise Line Business Credit to a private equity firm, but the terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. David Conrod managed Rise Line Business Credit for four years and eight months.

In May 2014, he founded LANDC Investment LLC, a registered investment platform and advisor. The firm provides asset management services to high-net-worth firms, including Rise Line Business Credit and his own capital-raising company, FocusPoint Private Capital Group.
